If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that staying connected with those around us is essential for our wellbeing. That’s why the team here at Careers Springboard are supporting the Samaritans’ ‘Brew Monday Campaign’.

What is Brew Monday?

Usually known as ‘Blue Monday’, the third Monday in January has been dubbed ‘the most difficult day of the year’. So, what better time to encourage people to get together and have a chat over a warming virtual cuppa?

The Samaritans are hoping to lighten those January blues by inspiring us all to do exactly that. It doesn’t have to be a Monday, or even a cup of tea, but by chatting and listening to our friends and family we can all help each other through the tougher times.

How can I stay connected?

Whilst our usual coffee shops and café stops may not be open for the time being, there are still many ways you can socialise and connect safely online.

Want to reach out to your friends, family or neighbours for a chat? You can use Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, or Facebook to have a group video or audio call from the comfort of your own home.

If you haven’t already, you can register as a Careers Springboard member for free today and attend our very own Brew Monday event! Join us on the 18^{th of} January at 7 pm for a virtual chat and a cuppa. We’re going to be joined by Simon Nichols from Thrive, before our usual job search advice presentation. Simon helps individuals develop effective coping strategies to deal with stress, anxiety and build good mental health practices.

Want to keep up the discussion? We also host virtual informal coffee mornings which run every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. These mornings are a great opportunity to support one another and to share constructive ideas about your job search.
