Rory Fisher

Chairperson

Rory is our Chairperson, a Trustee on the Executive Committee and a member of the Program Committee. He retired from QinetiQ PLC in September 2022, after a 35 year executive career mostly in the defence, security and aerospace sectors. He is now focussed on volunteering in the charity sector and helping small local companies to grow. He has always been passionate about driving performance and growing businesses by building high performance teams and is now using his experience in leadership, consulting and executive coaching for the benefit of Careers Springboard

Richard Lambert

Volunteer

Richard is a Trustee and Executive Committee member of Careers Springboard at Gerrards Cross. Drawing on several years of experience with Careers Springboard, Richard helps in a variety of ways with the running of the charity – fundraising, secretary duties, chairing Monday meetings, presentations, providing advice and suggestions. He is the first and principal contact for those Careers Springboard members seeking counselling services. His background is the management of large scale, single and multi-site service facilities, in senior roles with operational, customer service and commercial responsibilities. Industry sectors have been food service and healthcare.

Ralph Baker

Administrator

Ralph is a Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee. He is currently responsible for the administration of Careers Springboard. Ralph has a small team of volunteers who help him to manage the registration of new members, the weekly newsletter, the Linkedin site and the generation of the statistics that our funders and exec team need. Ralph has retired from a long and varied career in a number of different roles and industries.

Gladys Ajayi

Social Media Lead and Administrator

Gladys is a Trustee at Career Springboard, and is in hcharge of our Social Media activities. She is also one of our Zoom hosts and is helping out with a number of Admin tasks as well. She is an active mentor supporting women in business, new parents, and early-career professionals.

She spent 14 years in the education sector as Administration and Operations Director before moving into consulting, where she has worked across public, private, and third-sector organisations. Her work centres on helping people cut through complexity, build clarity, and move forward with confidence particularly when anxiety, self-doubt, or imposter syndrome show up.
She is a Business Analyst, Change Manager, and Career Coach with over two decades of experience across education, manufacturing and consulting, supporting professionals through change, career transitions, and high-pressure environments.

Known for her warm, straight-talking and practical style, she blends lived experience with evidence-based tools people can apply immediately. She is deeply committed to continuous learning and brings a people-centred, grounded approach to everything she does.

Francis Thompson

Treasurer

Francis Thompson is a Trustee, member of the Executive Committee and has the role of Treasurer. He is responsible for keeping the accounts so that Careers Springboard can confidently continue to offer its services to those seeking guidance, help and companionship in their endeavours to establish their careers. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Francis’s career was in finance and then industry.

Abbie Robus

Treasurer

Abbie Robus recently joined us as our new Treasurer. She will be taking over from Francis in due course.
She has a background in Corporate Finance.

Andy Low

Volunteer

Andy is a Trustee, a member of the Executive Committee and our former Chairperson. He is also one of the speakers on the roster, delivering talks on Networking and CV writing to both the Gerrards Cross group and our sister organisation that meets in Slough. Andy is also a Career Transition coach with LHH/Penna, the UK’s leading executive outplacement firm, which helps senior managers looking for new roles in the workplace. In this role he also delivers specialist support in marketing and all things to do with working and relocating internationally. He has a Certificate in Professional Coaching Skills from an accredited International Coach Federation training affiliate and delivers 1:1 executive coaching to senior managers. He takes up Interim management opportunities on occasion, utilising skills developed during a 30 year full time career in International Consumer products businesses, including two separate spells working and living in the USA.
