Rory Fisher

Chairman

Rory is our Chairperson, a Trustee on the Executive Committee, a member of our Programme Committee and one of our qualified Coaches.

He retired from QinetiQ PLC in September 2022, after a 35-year executive career, mostly in the defence, security and aerospace sectors, including 30 years at BAE Systems. He is now focused on volunteering in the charity sector.

As well as being our Chairperson, he is a Governor at a local independent girls’ school and a National Observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Rory has always been passionate about driving performance by building high-performance teams. He is now using his extensive experience in leadership, management consulting, executive coaching and career coaching for the benefit of Careers Springboard, supporting members with their career development, confidence and professional goals.

Ray Clark

Programme Committee Lead

Ray is a Trustee of Careers Springboard (CS) and is the Programme Team Lead. He also hosts weekly face-to-face coffee and networking meetings.

The basis of CS operations is a programme of virtual Zoom Monday evening meetings covering topics such as CVs, internet job search, LinkedIn, networking, “Tell Me About Yourself”, interview preparation, transferable skills and the use of AI for job searching and career development.

This unique programme is organised by our Programme Team of volunteers, who decide which topics should be included and secure speakers for the term ahead. The programme provides practical careers support to help members develop their job search, networking and interview skills.

As our Monday evening meetings became virtual during Covid, we had few face-to-face meetings. Ray set up weekly free coffee and networking meetings and hosts these each Friday in Chalfont St Peter with the help of other volunteers. These meetings provide members with an opportunity to meet, network, share experiences and support each other during their job search.

Ray knows what job searching is like, having been made redundant four times during his career, which consisted of 4 years as an Auditor/Chartered Accountant, 14 years as a Finance Manager and 30+ years as a Management Consultant, working with more than 100 large companies in 30 countries on business transformations.

Peter Henry

CV Specialist

My career in marketing, general management and latterly consultancy, coaching and mentoring, encompassed a wide range of industries including FMCG, business-to-business, service industries, not-for-profit and healthcare. This included taking British Gas through the opening of the UK domestic energy market to competition and providing strategic and marketing support for the commercial arm of what is now Age UK.

I now focus my skills and experience on volunteering. I have been an Enterprise Advisor with the Bucks Skills Hub for some 8 years, helping students to make better decisions about their paths through higher and further education and into a career. In 2021, I joined the charity Schoolreaders, working with primary school children who need help with the all-important skill of reading.

Since a CV is essentially an advertisement to get an interview, my marketing experience provides the skills and knowledge to develop effective CVs that help people present their experience and strengths to potential employers. In 2021, I became one of the resources for Careers Springboard’s CV service, supporting members with CV writing and job search preparation. In September 2024, I took on the role of managing this area, ably supported by two other volunteers, and in November 2025 became a Trustee.

Richard Lambert

Marketing and Secretary

Richard is a Trustee and Executive Committee member of Careers Springboard at Gerrards Cross. Drawing on several years of experience with Careers Springboard, Richard helps in a variety of ways with the running of the charity, including fundraising, secretary duties, chairing Monday meetings, presentations, and providing advice and suggestions. He is also the first and principal contact for Careers Springboard members seeking counselling services.

Richard’s professional background is in the management of large-scale, single- and multi-site service facilities, with senior roles covering operational management, customer service and commercial responsibilities. His industry experience spans food service and healthcare.

Through his experience in leadership, operations and customer service, Richard brings valuable practical knowledge to Careers Springboard, supporting the charity’s members and contributing to its effective day-to-day operation.

Ralph Baker

Administrator

Ralph is a Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee. He is currently responsible for the administration of Careers Springboard. Ralph has a small team of volunteers who help him to manage the registration of new members, the weekly newsletter, the Linkedin site and the generation of the statistics that our funders and exec team need. Ralph has retired from a long and varied career in a number of different roles and industries.

Gladys Ajayi

Social Media Lead

Gladys Ajayi is a Trustee at Careers Springboard, where she leads social media activity, supports digital engagement as a Zoom host, and contributes to administrative and operational tasks. She is also an active mentor, supporting women in business, new parents and early-career professionals with confidence, career progression and professional development.

A Harvard-trained Performance Consultant, Business Analyst, Change Manager and Career Coach, Gladys brings over two decades of experience helping people and organisations improve productivity, performance and decision-making. Her career spans education, manufacturing, housing and consulting across public, private and third-sector environments.

Gladys spent over 14 years as an Administration and Operations Director before moving into consulting, where she has supported transformation, capability building, change management and performance improvement across a range of sectors.

She holds professional certifications in Business Analysis and Change Management and has completed executive and professional training with Harvard Graduate School of Education, Rice and Rutgers Business School, and other leading institutions. Gladys brings a practical, people-centred approach to career coaching, mentoring and professional development.

William Fernandes

IT Manager

William joined Careers Springboard in July 2026 as a Trustee and IT Manager, bringing over 15 years of experience in IT, technology support, systems administration and business operations. He also serves as Newsletter Team Lead, helping coordinate the weekly Careers Springboard newsletter and supporting volunteers with content, design and distribution.

As IT Manager, William supports the organisation’s digital systems, including Google Workspace, CRM, website administration and day-to-day IT support. He also helps develop and update policies and procedures, promotes practical cybersecurity awareness and provides guidance to volunteers to help them work safely and effectively online.

As a Trustee, William is committed to supporting the charity’s aims and helping members on their employment and career journey. He is also involved in the Monday networking sessions, helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for members.

William enjoys using technology, organisation and teamwork to improve how people and organisations work, and is passionate about helping others make the most of digital tools and employment opportunities.

Abbie Robus

Treasurer

Abbie is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Accountant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Loughborough University.

As well as volunteering as Treasurer for Careers Springboard since the end of 2025, she has spent a decade working in London in various accounting, audit, corporate finance and investment roles, gaining broad experience across finance and financial management.

Outside of work and her role at Careers Springboard, she enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends.

Andy Low

Programme Committee

Andy is a Trustee, a member of the Executive Committee and our former Chairperson. He is also one of the speakers on the roster, delivering talks on networking and CV writing to both the Gerrards Cross group and our sister organisation that meets in Slough.

Andy is also a Career Transition Coach with LHH/Penna, the UK’s leading executive outplacement firm, which helps senior managers looking for new roles and supports them through career transition and career development. In this role, he also delivers specialist support in marketing and all things to do with working and relocating internationally.

He has a Certificate in Professional Coaching Skills from an accredited International Coach Federation training affiliate and delivers 1:1 executive coaching to senior managers, helping them with career planning, professional development and their transition to new opportunities.

He takes up interim management opportunities on occasion, utilising skills developed during a 30-year full-time career in international consumer products businesses, including two separate spells working and living in the USA.
