Presenter: Alan Foum
Alan Foum is a geophysicist with significant experience in the oil and gas industry having worked for BG Group, a major energy company on projects worldwide across the E&P domain. I have given numerous technical and non- technical courses to professionals to further their development and have published several scientific papers. I have a BSc in Geology from Imperial College London and an MSC in Geophysics from the University of Birmingham
I also represent Great Britain on the Council of the Global Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and was awarded a commendation by the SEG in 2024 for work in developing new procedures. I also do a lot of work for the Geo Energy Society of Great Britain (GESG) and was awarded the individual outreach award by the GESGB in 2024.
I have been a volunteer and trustee for Careers Springboard East Berkshire, helping people into work and had run the Wednesday Coffee Mornings, an informal discussion and support group for job seekers. I have also volunteered for Working Knowledge and STEM ambassadors helping young people with careers
