Rachel Dempers is an Executive Coaching and HR Consultant who works with leaders and organisations to future ready their organisation culture, leaders and workforce. Rachel, has more than 20 years of extensive experience in Human Resources in various HR leadership positions both globally and regionally at one of the world’s largest technology corporations and most recently was VP HR at Dell Computers. In today’s uncertain and complex environments, leaders are required to have great endurance. As a leader, a readiness to evolve ensures that your skills remain relevant. This talk will hopefully provide more understanding on what is the Future of Work, what do you need to know and how can you best prepare yourself to position you for success.

Our members will learn about how the various generations (Gen X, Gen Y, etc) over the last 75 years or so have evolved and can be compared with each other along with their traits and their trade-offs in terms of how choices which are made by each can be very different. These decisions are often influenced by our upbringing and what we absorb as we grow and become wiser throughout our lives. External influences are also a major factor to how we think, how we act, and how we engage in new concepts and with whom we might connect – with friends, colleagues and partners.

Fifty years ago there would have been 1 or 2 generations working in a business and currently there may be 5 generations. By 2040 it is likely that 6 or 7 generations could be operating within a profitable organisation. Whilst the older generations can share a multitude of their experiences with their colleagues, the younger generations can impart state of the art technologies and concepts which they may have embraced during their school years and in the early 20’s, ready to weave in to their first roles and help to grow businesses. Essentially, different generations can complement each other and therefore we can learn from each other.
