SUMMARY:Monday 24th July – Webinar: Preparing for the Summer Break
DESCRIPTION:Please note this will be the last meeting before the Summer Break. The Autumn Programme will commence on 4th September at the usual time. Have a great summer. \nCareers Springboard exists to help and support you to find your next role. Our weekly sessions are a source of advice and even solace during the grind of daily job search.\nAlthough there will be several weeks with no virtual meetings\, we cannot possibly take all of that time off from job search. If we were in employment\, we would not usually be able to take a four week holiday\, and the same applies to our full-time employment in job search. We are not suggesting that you don’t take a break at all! Only you will know how to strike the right balance.\nYes\, it’s tough to maintain our job search whilst others are relaxing and enjoying themselves with some time off.\nIt may be more challenging because there won’t be the continuity of virtual meetings every week to keep us on that job search track!\nThe secret is to plan our job search activity now\, identifying and concentrating on the key areas which we will target throughout the Summer. It is essential to be disciplined\, remain focused and reward ourselves when we achieve those small steps towards success.\nMartin will help you by guiding you through his proven process to a successful job search journey over the Summer period. \nPresenter: Martin Garrity\nMartin Garrity is the founder of Your Career Reimagined in which he coaches Career Changers\, Jobseekers\, Career Returners and Career Starters to get the right job for them.\nHis passion is helping his clients to understand themselves more deeply so that they can seek the role that’s right for them and their situation.\nHe’s worked in corporate HR roles for decades so understands the recruitment and selection process through and through. He’s also a qualified Executive Coach who has worked with senior leaders in a wide range of industries – IT\, Manufacturing\, Publishing\, Social Care and Central and Local Government.\n \nTo join the webinar you need to be a Careers Springboard member. Register for free now. If you are an existing member you will receive the Zoom link in the weekly e-newsletter. \n[maxbutton id=”1″ ]

SUMMARY:Monday 12th June – Webinar: Networking
DESCRIPTION:The subject of Networking is probably underrated. Its importance nevertheless is not just for those people who are talkative\, outgoing and / or who have assumed positions where they are continually engaging with a lot of people all the time. No.! That would be a misconception around its purpose. Networking is a tool from which each and every one of us can benefit who is seeking to fulfil another position. There is definitely a process to it that will help you to maximise best use of your time in order to target key contacts\, that will become enablers towards getting you to a positive discussion to move your search forward to the right role. \nThis talk is about that process. Organisation of your networking activity and keeping the relevant records of your discussions are key to future success. It requires practice and commitment for it to work effectively and to work for you. If you sow a seed by having a conversation on one day with one person and multiply that up several times over across several weeks and months\, it is very likely that your network will grow with a list of people with whom you have bult a rapport This is how to tackle the so called ‘Hidden Job Market’. \nPresenter: Andy Low\nOur speaker on Monday\, Andy Low\, is an executive coach/consultant in career transition\, who also operates as an interim manager.\nIn addition\, his experience includes CEO / Director level positions in Consumer Products\, Media and clothing/footwear\nAmongst his breadth of engagements are organisations such as Cadbury Schweppes\, Tonka\, Hasbro\, Hallmark Cards and Mills & Boon.\nAndy has been an active volunteer and trustee at Careers Springboard for several years. \nTo join the webinar you need to be a Careers Springboard member.

No.!
